QUARANTINE IS NOT A PRODUCTIVITY ‘RAT RACE’!

We all have been in quarantine for months now. The overall situation in the beginning and now is quite different. Quarantine brought with it, a lot of emotions both negative and positive. I am a student and when this whole lockdown began, I saw it like an opportunity. To learn new forms of dance, to learn a new language, to get more skills and etc, just like many others. It was a time for me to grow.

Soon I got caught up in this ‘RAT RACE’ where my interest shifted from personal growth to possibly get as many certificates I can , for my CV. This quarantine period is a necessity, we all have to understand this. But it is definitely not a productivity contest. Pandemic has caused a lot of stress on people of all age group. Emotionally it has affected many people, this is a hard time.

Everyone copes up with situations differently, it is okay if you have not learnt any new skill or have got no new certificate. It is okay if you have learnt new skills and have collected many certificates. Social media sometimes turn us into rats, who runs pointlessly. I decided to work only a with accordance of my mental health. When my brain wanted me to stop, I stopped. Some days I felt like doing nothing, some days I wanted to do a lot, which is again fine. We need to listen to ourselves rather than see others and compete. Just chill! If you want to.

Mental peace is very important. Meditate, talk to yourself, sleep , pamper yourself! It is no doubt that one positive aspect of quarantine is the list of opportunities it has brought with itself. Just do things at your own pace. Be happy and keep a positive vibe.

THANKYOU!
